David Gallo, Ph.D.

Oceanographer  /  2020 Keynote Speaker

David Gallo is an American oceanographer and Director of Special Projects at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. For more than 25 years, David has been at the forefront of ocean exploration, participating in and being witness to the development of new technologies and scientific discoveries that shape our view of planet earth. He was leading the team that found the Air France flight 447 and the Titanic, among other many–perhaps even more interesting–discoveries where they constantly face exploration-exploitation trade-offs. His explorations also lead to considerable learning.
